Why choose our resources?
Because we are experts and we have been helping teachers with our online resources for 15 years! All these resources are part of our Living English Courses!
We began with a great idea in 1997! As teachers we became tired of outdated
resources so we teamed up with Thomson Reuters® to create teaching resources
from news articles. Our downloadable, photocopiable lessons are fun, topical,
newsworthy and interesting. Instant Lessons are English language lessons
complete with teachers notes and answer keys. The photocopiable lessons
based on articles from Thomson Reuters® News Agency provide up-to-date lesson
content at 5 language levels. Each lesson consists of at least 9 exercises.
We now have an enormous database of lessons that have been used to teach students from elementary through to advanced right across the globe for more than a decade. Our lessons vary in topic, skill base, vocabulary and grammar points. We update them regularly and new resources are constantly added to the English-to-go libraries. If you use our lessons, you can print and photocopy them without worrying about breaching copyright laws; unlike photocopying from a published textbook. We solved that problem for you!
However, after feedback from teachers who used our lessons we decided to branch out:
We have more than 450 short activities designed to stimulate and energize your students. These can be used at the start of the class or as "fillers" or speaking activities. Many have been submitted by teachers from all around the world and edited for your use; these short, fun exercises get classes motivated and ready to learn!
Anna Grammar is a real person who gives expert advice on difficult grammar issues. Anna answers letters from English teachers from all around the world who write with issues about our sometimes confusing and illogical English Grammar. These are grammar pages for teachers who want to know more about the peculiarities of English. In addition, we have created loads of worksheets you can use to reinforce those tricky grammar points that come up in the classroom. Between us and Anna Grammar there are now more than 330 worksheets which cover everything from modals, to the present perfect to those damn tricky grammar points we all have trouble with.
Max Vocabulary Worksheets:
Max Cryer provides interesting and insightful information on the history of specific words. He then worked with us to create online worksheets and articles looking at where our language comes from. After some time, our teachers emailed us and asked if we could create vocabulary worksheets for them: printouts to use in class to reinforce the vocabulary that came out from one of our Instant Lessons or Warmers. Of course, we obliged. There are now 75 vocabulary worksheets for you to work with and more every month!
We recommend you go through the resources as listed, and use the course outlines to know which resources to teach; like a regular textbook. However, Living English enables you to adapt to the needs of your students by reviewing each resource and choosing the ones you wish to print and the ones you would like your students to complete online.
